Genie Isabel

Genie Isabel is a visual artist, DJ and curator that organizes interactive experiences in the Station North Arts District of Baltimore, MD. Originally from South Florida, she received her BFA from the Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA). As a DJ, she has played multiple festivals and toured along the east coast. She has also promoted various popular parties including Kahlon, Edge Control and Blush + Brews. Most of her focus now, however, is spent producing events. She is the booking manager and resident DJ for Levity, an immersive experience merging sound and sculpture.

In her practice, she gathers artists that create time-based works to produce quality, immersive and transformative experiences. It is collaboration with artists to organize a specific space that is at the heart of what she does. She aims to engage participants in a world that has been fully considered.

Collective Futures In Musc

REACH Festival at the Kennedy Center

Organized by producer and singer EN’B

In a political climate with much upheaval for Black, Latinx, immigrant rights, AAPI Representation, gender equality, and trans rights, the future is dependent on self-created futures through art and music.

Featuring artists Genie, DJ Trillnatured, DJ Toyo Mansi, Kotic Couture, and Nikilad, this event discusses music as a vehicle of expression and resistance to endure the long lasting effects of white supremacy, slavery, and imperialism.

Later, the artists will gather for a panel to discuss how musicians in the DMV area, the epicenter of politics, and Baltimore, the epicenter of revolution and burgeoning Black Arts, are creating their own futures and justice through music.
